Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Pennyweight ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

What Pennyweight is

Pennyweight is a jewelry pricing engine. It computes prices based on live metal spot prices, your material costs, labor, overhead, and markup rules. It is not accounting software, inventory management, or a point-of-sale system. Pricing outputs are informational and intended to assist your business decisions; they are not financial advice.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
One person or legal entity per account. Shared logins are not permitted.
You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.

Your data

You own the data you enter into Pennyweight: your items, materials, vendors, labor entries, and pricing profiles. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You can export your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we store and handle your data.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission

Pricing and payment

Pennyweight offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation is immediate and self-serve, no calls required. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

Metal spot prices

Pennyweight displays metal spot prices sourced from third-party data providers. These prices are provided for informational purposes and may be delayed or differ from live market prices. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of spot price data. Do not use Pennyweight spot prices for trading or investment decisions.

AI features

Pennyweight includes AI-powered features (powered by Anthropic's Claude). AI outputs are suggestions and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using it in your business. Your data processed by AI features is not used to train AI models.

Service availability

We strive to keep Pennyweight available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service unavailability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pennyweight and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@pennyweight.app. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.
